Growing in Service

Knowing that service work is a vital part of our Christian faith, we understand youth have a tremendous heart and energy for taking up this kind of work. In a world that is constantly telling us it really is all about us, service work gives us a chance to get out of ourselves and to focus on the needs of others. The cornerstone of each GROW will be a local, hands-on service project.

Growing in Community

GROW will be an opportunity for community building with youth from across the diocese. Even though the day will be structured around service work and scripture study, there will also be time to just hang out with one another.

Growing in Faith

Opportunities to talk about our faith in deep and meaningful ways are a vital part of our formation. Taking time to delve into scripture, to participate in small groups and to listen and share stories of faith, help shape us as disciples of Christ. Each GROW event, will be centered in prayer and conclude with worship.

For more information about upcoming GROW events, visit the events page.

The Diocese will help sponsor several GROW events each year.

Each GROW will be hosted in a local diocesan parish, in partnership with an area charity.

Each GROW will include a mini spiritual program.

Each GROW will have the same structure, but each GROW will be uniquely defined by its theme and purpose.

Some GROW events will be only for high school youth, grades 9-12. However, there may be times, the GROW event will include middle school youth as well. Please check the GROW Events and RSVP pages for more information.

Grow is a chance to check out of your daily routine and check in with God and with one another.

It’s about reaching out into the community and making a difference.

It’s a time to center yourself and it's a time to share your faith.

It's a time to make new friends and have some fun.

But, most of all, it’s a time to learn just how much Jesus loves you.

And we are going to do it all in just one day!
